How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • Application by you to the Oldham Enterprise Fund
  • Enquiries for Business Support
  • Enquiries regarding networking and training events

We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources in the following scenarios:

  • From stakeholder referrals

We use the information that you have given us in order to: –

  • Progress your application for funding via the Oldham Enterprise Fund (including funding via the Stoller Charitable Trust donation, the Start Up Loan Scheme and other funding provided via The Growth Company)
  • To inform business support partners The Growth Company and People Plus to enable them to deliver business support to you
  • To notify you of business support services and networking events

We may share this information with the following organisations/types of organisations:

  • Oldham Council
  • Service providers

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on for processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in Oldham Council Civic Centre

We keep  your Personal identifiers, contacts and characteristics (for example, name and contact details) We will then dispose your information by shredding and deletion from IT systems.

We will only keep your personal information for as long as the law specifies or where the law does not specify this, for the length of time determined by our business requirements.

We will keep your data for

  • 12 months from the date of your application closing if you are not successful with, or do not progress your application to, the Oldham Enterprise Fund; or
  • If you are successful, then 72 months from the date of any Grant funding, or 72 months beyond the length of any loan term or final repayment date of the loan

Your data protection rights

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
  • Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure – You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing – You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing – You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability – You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
