Real Change Oldham

You may have seen that recently the council and range of partners launched the  Real Change Oldham initiative.

If you haven’t then Real Change Oldham aims to support some of our most vulnerable residents and give them practical support to cover essential costs needed to help end or prevent their homelessness.

It does this by combining donations from the public to buy bigger things that make a longer-term difference to people’s lives.

Donations will go directly toward practical items people need to build their lives away from the streets: things like ID to register with a landlord, bus fares to get to key appointments or money for the electric meter to settle into their new home.

More info is here www.realchangeoldham.co.uk

Cut Throat Kenny – the barbers shop on King Street which received both Oldham Enterprise Fund and Independent Quarter funding years ago – is getting behind the campaign by donating proceeds they make from coffee sales in the shop’s bar to the fund.

We now want more businesses to get involved and basically donate and support.

Oldham economy gets £220k boost!
