Oldham Festival for Business 2017During May 2017

On Tuesday 2nd May, The Oldham Festival for Business programme for 2017 was launched at the Saddleworth Networking meeting at Dinnerstone Uppermill.

As ever the Festival seeks to promote

  • The Oldham Enterprise Fund
  • The services of the Business Growth Hub

This year’s programme is again built around the One Oldham Business Awards on the 12th May and offers you the first chance to see the new O2 Telefonica Wayra OpenFuture_UK Digital Accelerator and Hack Oldham maker space in the former Wahoo nightclub on Yorkshire Street. These are 2 great new resources for Oldham.

  • 7.pm on Tuesday 9th May – The Asian Leaders Dinner in support of the Mayor’s Appeal Fund – tickets (£25) are available from the Mayor’s Office on 0161 770 4012. Main speaker is Oldham’s very own Frank Rothwell (Manchester Cabins) – “direct from the island!”
  • 12 noon on Friday 12th May   – An invitation only event at Kids Around the Clock  Children’s Centre – VIP guest Baroness Manzila Uddin – Celebrating the success of their 1st Year as a new children’s centre in Chadderton – achieving “OUTSTANDING “ in their first OFSTED report. The success is due to their passion and commitment to recruit staff from the local community.
  • 1.30pm on Friday 12th May – An invitation only event launching Baroness Uddin’s Westminster Commission on Muslim Women – “This is who I am” which will examine and challenge the perceived role of Muslim Women in society.
  • 8am to 10 am on Tuesday 16th May at University Campus Oldham – Book online Financing Growth – A breakfast event focussed solely on helping businesses access that essential commodity – money!

  • 10am to 4pm on Wednesday 17th May – Logistics Jobs Fair at Mantra Learning Greengate Manchester M24 1RU.  Looking to employ people in the Logistics sector? Then contact Mantra to book a stand. Looking for a job in the Logistics sector? Find out about job opportunities in this industry at Mantra’s traditional market stall layout of employers opportunities. Just drop in!!

  • 6.30pm to 9pm (doors will open at 6pm) on Tuesday 23rd May – The Oldham College VQ Awards in the Queen Elizabeth Hall The VQ Awards allow us to reward and recognise the outstanding work and contributions of College students, staff and employer partners in 16 different categories, covering academic and work-related successes.  Dress code: Lounge suit/cocktail dresses.

The programme is open to Greater Manchester B2B businesses that have been trading for less than three years, and have already demonstrated 20% year-on-year growth or able to demonstrate realistic projections to do so.
